Tikoloshe Afrika Art Gallery & Root Carvers — Omaruru

Omaruru has quietly become one of Namibia’s leading arts and crafts destinations — and Tikoloshe Afrika is its centrepiece. The gallery celebrates Namibian handicrafts and culture through paintings, sculpture and textiles. Adjacent is the Tikoloshe Root Carvers workshop — a well-known local cooperative specialising in intricate root carvings from camelthorn and mopane wood: animals, mythological tikoloshe figures (creatures of southern African folklore) and abstract forms.
