Penduka Women's Project Windhoek

A remarkable social enterprise on the shores of Goreangab Dam — Penduka (‘wake up’ in Oshiwambo) empowers women from rural and underdeveloped backgrounds through training in embroidery, weaving, screen-printing and craft design. The vibrant workshop and shop produces distinctive handmade textiles, bags and homeware. A meaningful alternative to curio market shopping — purchases go directly to the women who make them.
