The most vibrant open-air market in northern Namibia and one of the most alive market experiences in the country. Hundreds of vendors sell fresh produce, dried goods, traditional medicines, second-hand clothing, electronics, handcrafts and street food across a sprawling open site. The kapana stands — charcoal-grilled beef, served with chilli and salt on a sheet of newspaper — are a northern Namibia institution. Oshifima (mahangu porridge) and fat cakes (vetkoek) are sold at dawn. Come early for maximum energy and colour.
