One of the most famous craft markets in Namibia — a permanent, large-scale roadside market on the B1 at the northern and southern entrances to Okahandja. Hundreds of stalls display hand-carved hardwood animals (giraffe, elephant, rhino, lion), tribal masks, bowls, furniture and decorative panels. All pieces are carved and finished on-site by artisans from the Mbangura community. Prices are negotiable and the quality ranges from tourist-grade to genuinely fine work. Impossible to miss for any Windhoek–Etosha self-driver — Okahandja is only 71km north of Windhoek on the B1.
