One of Namibia’s most remarkable properties — a 10,000-hectare Kalahari farm that doubles as a rescue sanctuary for 300+ wild animals. Over 34 years, Harnas has taken in injured, orphaned and confiscated animals from across southern Africa: lions, leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs, meerkats, baboons, tortoises, caracals and more. Accommodation ranges from stone cottages to lion cottages and igloo bungalows. Activities: sundowner game drives, lion feeding, bush braai, cultural excursion to the local San community. Volunteers can work at the sanctuary for 2–12 weeks on reintroduction projects. Part of the Naankuse Foundation network.
