Von Bach Dam — Watersports, Fishing & Game Reserve

A large reservoir (4,300 ha game reserve around it) 5km southeast of Okahandja on the B1 — Windhoek’s most important water supply dam and a favourite weekend escape from the capital. Water-skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, yachting, boating and angling (bass, yellowfish, carp, barbel, blue carper) are all permitted. The NWR Von Bach Dam Resort has chalets and camping with an outdoor pool. Wildlife in the reserve includes mountain zebra, eland, springbok, kudu, baboons and ostriches. A Serenity Boat Cruise runs on the dam.
