The former ombala (palace) of the twelfth King of the Uukwaluudhi, Tatekulu Josia Shikongo Taapopi, near the village of Tsandi 15km from Outapi. A large, traditional Owambo royal homestead enclosed by a tall mopane-pole palisade, with multiple huts inside reflecting the king’s wealth and stature. The only surviving royal homestead of its kind in the Omusati Region — an authentic window into the political and cultural structure of Ovamboland’s pre-colonial kingdoms. Best visited with a local guide from Outapi.
