The 203,000+ hectare NamibRand supports a remarkable diversity of desert-adapted wildlife: oryx, springbok, leopard, cheetah, brown hyena, aardwolf and bat-eared fox. The landscape — a collision of red Namib dunes, inselberg mountain chains and flat gravel plains — is among the most photogenic in Africa. Only a handful of lodges operate inside the reserve, keeping visitor numbers low and the wilderness experience intact.
