Etosha Self-Drive — Gates, Fees & Rules

Four entry gates: Anderson Gate (south, C38 via Outjo — main Windhoek approach, 17km to Okaukuejo); Von Lindequist Gate (east, via Tsumeb on B1 — closest to Namutoni); King Nehale Gate (northeast, 48km off B1 toward Ondangwa); Galton Gate (west, remote). Gates open at sunrise (06:00–07:30 depending on month) and close at sunset — self-driving after dark is strictly prohibited. Entry fee (2026): N$280 per international adult per day (N$140 entrance + N$140 conservation levy). SADC adults: N$180. Children under 8: free. Card and cash accepted at gates. Pre-book NWR accommodation well in advance for May–September peak season.
