Dragon’s Breath Cave holds a record few visitors know exists: the world’s largest known non-subglacial underground lake, nearly 2 hectares in area, hidden beneath the Otjozondjupa bush. The cave was discovered in 1986 and takes its name from the warm, moist air that rises from the entrance and condenses into a mist when barometric pressure drops. Currently on private land and not open to general public access; specialist caving expeditions have been organised through dedicated operators. A remarkable Namibian geological secret.
