One of the rarest wildlife experiences on earth. The desert lions of Damaraland and Kaokoland roam home ranges of up to 2,000km² — the largest of any lion population globally. Completely unfenced, outside any national park. They hunt oryx, desert-adapted zebra and have been documented hunting fur seals on the Skeleton Coast. Fewer than 150 individuals survive. Dr Flip Stander has tracked them for decades from mobile bush camps.
